Shami Kabab Recipe



Here's a delicious Shami Kabab recipe for you:


Ingredients:


500g boneless chicken or beef, boiled and shredded

1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas), soaked for 2-3 hours and boiled

1 large onion, finely chopped

3-4 cloves of garlic, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

2-3 green chilies, finely chopped

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to your spice level)

Salt to taste

1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

2 eggs, beaten

Cooking oil

Instructions:


In a pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add chopped onions, garlic, and green chilies. Saute until onions become translucent.

Add shredded chicken or beef, boiled chana dal, ginger, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the flavors blend.

Let the mixture cool down. Once cool, blend it in a food processor or using a hand blender to form a smooth mixture.

Add chopped coriander and mint leaves to the mixture and mix well.

Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a flat round patty (kabab).

Dip the kabab in beaten eggs and shallow fry in a pan with oil until both sides are golden brown and crispy.

Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.

Serve the delicious Shami Kababs with mint chutney or your favorite dip.
