Chane Ki Daal Ka Halwa
Here's a recipe for Chane ki Daal ka Halwa:
Ingredients:
1 cup split Bengal gram (chana dal)
6 cups milk
1 cup khoya
1 cup sugar (adjust according to taste)
1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Chopped nuts for garnishing (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
Instructions:
Wash the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for about 2 hours. Drain the water afterwards.
In a heavy-bottomed pan, add the soaked chana dal and 4 cups of milk. Cook on low to medium heat until the dal becomes soft and the milk is absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
In a separate pan, heat ghee and add the cooked chana dal. Sauté the dal in ghee for a few minutes.
Slowly add the remaining 2 cups of milk and cook the dal until it becomes soft and creamy.
Add sugar and khoya to the dal mixture. Continue cooking and stirring until the halwa thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Add cardamom powder and mix well.
In another small pan, heat a little ghee and roast the chopped nuts until they become slightly golden.
Garnish the halwa with the roasted nuts.
Serve the Chane ki Daal ka Halwa warm and enjoy!
Remember, cooking times may vary, so keep an eye on the consistency and adjust the ingredients as needed.
