Naan Recipe

Here's a simple recipe for making naan on a tawa (griddle)

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon instant yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup yogurt

1/4 cup milk

Water (for sticking)

Butter or ghee (for brushing)

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.

Add yogurt and milk to the dry ingredients and knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic. You might need to add a little more flour or milk to achieve the right consistency.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it doubles in size.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles and knead it again briefly.

Divide the dough into smaller portions and shape them into balls. Roll each ball into a flat oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Heat the tawa over medium-high heat.

Dip your fingers in water and apply a thin layer of water on one side of the naan.

Place the wet side of the naan onto the hot tawa, water-side down. Press gently to make sure it sticks to the tawa.

Cook for about a minute or until you see bubbles forming on the surface.

cook the other side for another minute, or until it's cooked.

If you'd like, you can brush the cooked naan with butter or ghee while it's still hot.

Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.

Serve the naan warm with your favorite curries or enjoy them with chutney or yogurt.

Enjoy your homemade naan!
