Mutton Paya Recipe
Here's a simple recipe for Mutton paya:
Ingredients:
500g mutton paya (goat trotters)
1 cup chopped onions
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil
Chopped cilantro leaves for garnishing
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
Clean and wash the mutton paya thoroughly. You can ask your butcher to clean them as well.
In a pressure cooker, heat the oil and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the cleaned mutton paya and sauté for a few minutes until they are well-coated with the spices.
Add water just enough to cover the mutton paya. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook until the paya are tender.
Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and check if the mutton paya are cooked to your liking. If they need more cooking, you can cook them uncovered until they reach the desired tenderness.
Add garam masala and mix well.
Garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.
Serve hot with lemon wedges and enjoy your delicious Mutton Paya!
