Fish Curry Recipe
Here's a fish curry recipe:
Ingredients:
500g fish cleaned and cut into pieces
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
2-3 green chilies, slit
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking
Fresh cilantro leaves, chopped (for garnishing)
Instructions:
Marinate the fish pieces with a pinch of turmeric and salt. Keep aside for about 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan. Fry the fish pieces until they are lightly browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and oil starts to separate.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
Add about 1-2 cups of water and bring the gravy to a boil. Adjust the consistency of the gravy according to your preference.
Gently add the fried fish pieces and slit green chilies to the gravy. Cover and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the fish to absorb the flavors.
Sprinkle garam masala and chopped cilantro leaves on top.
Serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
Enjoy your homemade fish curry!
