Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe
Here's a basic pizza dough recipe for you:
Ingredients:
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup warm water
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. You can use a wooden spoon or your hands.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles. You can now divide the dough into two equal portions for two 12-inch pizzas or keep it as a single ball for a thicker crust.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Add your favorite pizza toppings – tomato sauce, cheese, vegetables, meats, etc.
Preheat your oven to the highest temperature and place the topped pizza in the oven.
Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice and enjoy!
Feel free to customize the toppings and experiment with different ingredients to create your perfect pizza. Enjoy your homemade pizza!
