Dumplings Recipe
Here's a dumplings recipe:
Ingredients:
For the dumpling filling:
1 cup ground chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
2-3 green onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
For the dumpling wrappers:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 to 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped cabbage, carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the filling.
In a separate bowl, gradually add warm water to the flour, mixing as you go, until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it's smooth.
Roll out the dough into a thin sheet, about 1/8 inch thick. Use a round cookie cutter or a glass to cut out circles from the dough.
Place a small spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each dough circle.
Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal the dumpling. You can also pleat the edges for a decorative look.
Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of oil. Place the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
Pour water into the skillet to a depth of about 1/4 inch, then cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 6-8 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the dumpling wrappers are translucent.
Remove the lid and let the dumplings cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms.
Serve the chicken dumplings with sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy your homemade chicken dumplings!
