1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and sugar until well combined.

Stir in the vanilla extract to the mixture.
Pour the ice cream base into your ice cream maker, churn the mixture until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
During the last few minutes of churning, add the chocolate chips and chopped nuts into the ice cream maker. They will get evenly distributed throughout the ice cream. transfer the ice cream to an airtight container, spreading it evenly.
Press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the ice cream to prevent ice crystals from forming. Seal the container with a lid.
Place the container in the freezer and let the ice cream set for at least 4-6 hours.
When ready to serve, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly, making it easier to scoop.
Enjoy your homemade chocolate ice cream.
