Halwa puri complete recipe

 Here's a complete recipe for Halwa Puri with Chane (Chickpeas) and Pickle Salad:


Halwa Puri Ingredients:


2 cups Semolina (suji )

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Ghee or clarified butter

4 cups Water

1/2 cup Milk

1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

1/4 cup Raisins

1/4 cup Chopped almonds

Cooking oil for frying puris

Chane (Chickpeas) Ingredients:


1 cup Chickpeas (kabuli chana), soaked overnight and boiled until tender

1 medium-sized Onion, finely chopped

1 large Tomato, chopped

1-2 Green Chilies, finely chopped (adjust to your spice preference)

1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

1/2 tsp Cumin seeds

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Coriander powder

1 tsp Garam Masala

1 tbsp Cooking oil

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish

Pickle Salad Ingredients:


1 cup Mixed Pickles (choose your favorite pickles like mango, lime, etc.)

1 small Onion, thinly sliced

Fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions:


Halwa Preparation:


1.In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over medium-low heat.

2.Add the semolina and roast it, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.

3. In a separate saucepan, bring water to a boil, and then add the hot water to the roasted semolina while stirring to avoid lumps.

4.Stir in the sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and let it cook for a few minutes.

5. Add milk, raisins, and chopped almonds. Stir until the halwa reaches the desired consistency. It should be smooth and thick.

6.Remove the halwa from heat and keep it covered.


Puri Preparation:


1. prepare the dough using all-purpose flour(Maida), water, and a pinch of salt. Knead until smooth and roll into small balls. Roll each ball into a circular shape.

2. Heat cooking oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the puris until they puff up and turn golden brown.

3. Remove the puris from the oil and place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.


Chane (Chickpeas) Preparation:


1. In a separate pan, heat cooking oil over medium heat and add cumin seeds.

2.Once the seeds crackle, add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.

3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.

4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes become soft and the oil starts to separate.

5. Add the boiled chickpeas and mix well, letting them simmer for a few minutes.

6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


Pickle Salad:

1. In a bowl, mix the sliced onions, and chopped fresh coriander leaves.

2. Add the mixed pickles to the bowl and toss everything together.


To serve:

Arrange the Halwa, Puri, Chane, and Pickle Salad on a plate or in separate serving dishes.

Note: Adjust the spice levels and sweetness according to your taste. You can also serve yogurt or lassi alongside this dish to balance the flavors.
