Fruit Trifle Recipe



 A fruit trifle is a delightful and refreshing dessert that consists of layers of fruit, cake, custard, and whipped cream. Here is a delicious fruit trifle recipe for you to enjoy:

Ingredients:


For the cake layer:

1 sponge cake, cut into cubes

For the fruit layer:

2 cups mixed fresh fruits (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, and mango), washed, peeled, and chopped if necessary

For the custard layer:


2 cups milk

1/2 cup sugar

3 tablespoon vanilla custard powder 

For the whipped cream layer:


1 1/2 cups heavy cream (chilled)

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: Sliced almonds for garnish.


Instructions:


Prepare the custard:


In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to simmer. In the meantime, in a separate bowl,whisk together the sugar,and custard powder in milk,until smooth.

Gradually pour the liquid into the milk 

 stirring constantly until it thickens and comes to a boil. Remove from heat 

Transfer the custard to a bowl and cover its surface with plastic wrap.Let it cool completely in the refrigerator.

Prepare the whipped cream:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overmix.

Assemble the trifle:

In a trifle dish or a clear glass bowl, start with a layer of cake cubes at the bottom.

Add a layer of mixed fruits on top of the cake cubes.

Pour a layer of cooled custard over the fruits.

Add a layer of whipped cream over the custard.

Repeat the layers:


Repeat the layers until you've used up all the ingredients, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.

Garnish and chill:

Garnish the top with sliced almonds or additional fresh fruits if desired.

Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve:

Before serving, you can add some extra fresh fruit on top for a beautiful presentation.

Use a large serving spoon to scoop out portions, making sure each serving has a nice mix of all the layers.
